Remembrance day, Tuesday November 11 2014
Totalmente nuevo para mi, el Remembrance day es un día donde se recuerda a todos los soldados caídos en la World War I & II. Una costumbre que no se celebra en España pero que me ha parecido muy especial.
In my high school, we remembered all the 80 soldiers from Barrie fallen in the war. We went to a special assembly in the caf and we watched a video about Remembrance day and we heard some poems and the famous "In Flanders Fields".
Some days ago I didn't understand why some people were wearing poppies (amapolas) in their jackets, but then I found out that was related to Remembrance Day. It was really good to see everybody wearing a poppy and see how proud they are of their soldiers - their grandfathers. Poppies and Canadian flags everywhere - we should sometimes learn about other countries and see how they don't feel embarrassed of their country.
Let's we forget - Remembrance day
Otra experiencia nueva, el orgullo que sienten de ser canadienses
